Neville Goddard Lectures: “Fundamental Revelation: Jesus Christ In Us”
06 Nov Neville Goddard Lectures: “Fundamental Revelation: Jesus Christ In Us”

In all the revelations that await us, there is none so fundamental as the revelation of Jesus Christ in us. Nothing about Jesus Christ can be known outwardly. It is only the incurrent eyewitnesses who know him—those whose immortal eyes are opened inward into the world of thought, into eternity, who are dazzled seeing through the mask of the body some flashing of the light he said he was. When one begins to awake, the being who awakes is the Lord Jesus Christ. But no mortal eye can see him and the mortal mind knows him from the record—where he was born, his parents, his brothers, and his friends. They know all about him and the weaknesses and the limitations of that individual. They do not know the being who has awakened within him.
So tonight, we will take the being who will one day awake within every child born of woman and try to show you who you really are. For Jesus Christ is the true identity of every child born of woman. He said, “I am the light of the world” (Jn.8:12), but he also said that you are the light of the world. This claim which is the most fantastic claim in the world was not claimed for one little individual; for Christ is the universal being that is the life of every child born of woman. So when one awakes, he claims it not only for himself, he claims it for every one in the world: you are the light of the world. But mortal mind cannot understand it and they said to him, “Tell me, who are you?” He said, “Even what I have told you from the beginning”—the beginning of what, the year one A.D.?—no, before that the world was. Before that the world was you and I heard the story that you and I would descend into this world of death and experience death, and trust the story, the plan. For it was a collective plan that we would come out of it and return enhanced by reason of the experience of death.
So, even what I have told you from the beginning…well, they didn’t understand that…because they knew him. Beginning of what, just a few years ago? That’s not what …because he’s not a physical being but one who actually experiences something entirely different from this world, and yet living in this world until the silver cord is snapped he cannot but tell it. When the silver cord is snapped, he returns, if he has had the experience, to the world that was his before that the world was…with all the glory that was promised by the experience of coming into this world.
So, who then is this being that I tell you that you really are, the being called Jesus Christ? We are told that we must be “born again” and then we are told, “We are born anew through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1Pet.1:3). That’s how we are born. Our birth is conditioned upon the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And you might think that it was 2,000 years ago if you are thinking of it today. That’s not it at all. Here is another statement concerning the same mystery as we read it now in Revelation: “Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the true witness…the first born of the dead” (1:5). Well, you’ll think in terms of time, wouldn’t you? If I now said concerning children, well, who is this one? He was the first born. And this one?—he is the second born. Well now, that is in time. But this hasn’t a thing to do with time. We must now regard this in the order of events rather than in time. We’re dealing with a mystery—“Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first born of the dead.”
