The Science of Getting Rich — Advancement and Efficient Action

The Impression of Increase

Wallace Wattles taught that every successful person naturally conveys what he called "the impression of increase." This means that in every interaction — business, personal, or casual — you communicate an advancing, growing energy that others can feel.

"The desire for increase is inherent in all nature; it is the fundamental impulse of the universe," Wattles wrote. People instinctively gravitate toward those who make them feel that their lives will improve through association. A business owner who conveys the impression of increase attracts customers. A friend who conveys it attracts loyal relationships.

This is not about being artificially positive or performing generosity. It comes from a genuine inner state — the certainty that you are growing, advancing, and helping others grow. When this inner state is authentic, people feel it and respond to it naturally.
